Navigate the future of funds at the Guernsey Funds Forum 2024

Registration is now open for the Guernsey Funds Forum 2024, taking place 15 May from 1pm - 7pm, at 155 Bishopsgate, London.

This year’s event is titled Guernsey: Navigating the Future and will cover capital raising in the current environment, the developing technological landscape, continuation and follow-on funds, secondary markets, tokenisation, and carried interest vehicles.

The event provides access to new expertise through specialist speakers and engaging panel sessions, plus there’s plenty of opportunities to network alongside leading professionals in this key sector.

Formal proceedings commence with Miles Celic, Chief Executive Officer of TheCityUK, on the ever-evolving relationship between Guernsey and the City.  Also a board member of UK Finance and the Financial Services Skills Commission, Miles has extensive experience in journalism, politics and finance, and was part of the team that led HSBC’s response to the global banking crisis.

The first panel of the day is titled ‘Capital raising in today’s economic climate,’ and features Peter Ames, Partner at EY, Eve Ellis, Partner at Ropes & Grey, Emma Silcocks, ESG Manager at Bluefield Partners LLP, and Naoshir Vachha, Partner at Anthemis. The panellists will explore capital raising in the current environment against the backdrop of a developing technological landscape, including AI.

Panel two, titled ‘Exploring the future of funds,’ will focus on continuation and follow-on funds, secondary markets, tokenisation, and carried interest vehicles. Panellists comprise Kobus Cronje, Managing Director at JTC Group, Sarah de Ste Croix, Partner at Stephenson Harwood, Matt Ong, CEO and Founder at Ctrl Alt, and Lavanya Raghavan, Funds Partner at White & Case LLP.

The event will conclude with what promises to be a fascinating closing keynote speech from ‘the world’s greatest living explorer’ Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Sir Ranulph is the first person to cross the Antarctic continent unsupported. He has been breaking world records, discovering lost cities, and leading legendary (and sometimes life-threatening) expeditions worthy of the Odyssey for decades.

With five decades of experience as a mature financial services jurisdiction, Guernsey is also perfectly placed to host two educational funds masterclass sessions on the morning of the event, focusing on understanding Guernsey’s range of flexible fund structures. These sessions are aimed at expanding the knowledge of emerging fund managers, associates, and future partners.

If you would like to register for this event, please contact Leanne Cuttill or Fiona Murray to obtain a registration code.
