Diane Colton FCII, is Director of Insurance, Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC).

Diane is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She joined the Guernsey Financial Services Commission in 1995 and was appointed to Deputy Director of Insurance in 2001, overseeing all aspects of the work of the Insurance Division. This included life and non-life insurers and the supervision of insurance intermediaries. She was promoted to Director of Insurance in January 2007.

In 2004, Diane was invited to join an Insurance Typologies working group set up by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to conduct an analysis into the money laundering vulnerabilities in the insurance sector. Diane has represented the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) at special meetings of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee and has undertaken work on behalf of the Financial Stability Institute.

Diane is an active member of a number of IAIS Committees including:  Fraud, Implementation, Regional Coordination, Reinsurance and other forms of risk transfer.
Most recently Diane has become the Chair of the Captive Guidance Paper Drafting Group which is a sub-group of the Reinsurance Subcommittee of the IAIS and is Chair of the Insurance Fraud Subcommittee.
