Business centre success showcases Guernsey’s popularity

Thu, 09/02/2012 12:45

Guernsey’s economic robustness and continued popularity as a location to do business have been highlighted by the full occupancy of the Dixcart business centre and serviced offices at the start of 2012.

The Dixcart Group is best known for the provision of professional business services including the establishment and management of international structures for private and commercial clients.

Bruce Watterson, a Director of Dixcart Trust Corporation Limited, said: “Dixcart has also been providing managed office services on Guernsey since 2008. These services were initially launched in response to a growing demand for office space from companies wishing to demonstrate a physical presence in the jurisdiction in which they are located and the Group now has business centres in Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Madeira and the UK.”

John Nelson, a Director of Dixcart Trust Corporation commented that “Some companies locate in the business centre for the medium term whilst others have shorter term arrangements with most firms anticipating a move to their own premises, once they are established on the Island.

“To date, the managed office suites have helped over ten companies start-up, relocate to the Island or restructure locally, creating a number of jobs. The success certainly indicates that the economy remains strong and Guernsey a popular jurisdiction to establish operations in.”

The success of the serviced offices is due to both the quality of the office space and the prime location on the Island, combined with the professional support services which Dixcart can provide which include accounting support as well as advice on tax compliance. Additional support services such as human resources and IT can also be arranged.

Dixcart often refers work to other local service providers in Guernsey, when it is more appropriate or cost effective to do so. Dixcart is committed to working with other Guernsey companies in promoting the jurisdiction and assisting companies establish themselves locally. We would be very interested to hear from any local firms who might be interested in working with Dixcart and their clients.

The Dixcart Group employs over 160 people across eight jurisdictions and this year will be celebrating 40 years of success in providing financial and corporate services to a diverse portfolio of private and corporate clients.
