Dr. Jo Salter MBE

First female fighter jet pilot, Former Director of Global Transformative Leadership for PwC, Partner in Temple Law AI

Jo Salter MBE made history as the UK’s first ever female fast jet pilot, flying the Tornado GR1 with 617 Squadron in the Royal Air Force. She joined the RAF at 18 and studied at the Royal Military College of Science, initially joining to become an engineering officer. When the rules changed to allow women to fly, she seized the opportunity and earned her fast jet wings in 1992.

Her career has always combined technical skill with trailblazing leadership. After operational service, she continued to fly with the Air Cadets, sharing her passion for aviation with the next generation. In civilian life, she’s held senior roles across technology, people and consulting, including Director of Global Transformative Leadership at PwC. She’s a founding Partner of Temple Law AI.

Jo is now a sought-after speaker on leadership, resilience and high performance, especially relating to technology and change. She’s committed to helping others through her work as a Trustee and Ambassador for several charities. She’s also the author of two books on using personal energy to achieve and is currently writing a book on leadership. Named one of Harpers & Queen’s 50 Most Inspiring Women in the World, Jo continues to challenge expectations and open doors for others.
