Join Guernsey Finance's Asia private wealth roadshow in Hong Kong to learn more about Guernsey's expertise in the trust and fiduciary, banking and investment management sectors as well as the benefits of living, working and doing business in the island.

A specialist delegation comprising industry experts and representatives from Guernsey Finance and Locate Guernsey will host meetings and a roundtable lunch exploring what makes Guernsey a globally recognised leader in private wealth, and the delegation will also be in attendance at the STEP Asia conference on 6 and 7 November.

Paul Blackwell

Director

Paul graduated with a degree in law from Jesus College, University of Oxford and a Masters in Japanese studies from the University of London.

Shortly after graduating he embarked on a career as a chartered tax adviser with Arthur Andersen in London. In 2003 Paul moved to Deloitte LLP in Guernsey, where he led the private client tax practice across the Channel Islands.

In 2012 Paul moved to the fiduciary services sector joining Praxis in 2015 where he is now Client Services Director. Paul brings with him over 20 years of experience in advising offshore fiduciaries and high net worth individuals on international structuring with a particular focus on administering complex structures for an international client base.

Paul's background in tax and accountancy makes him extremely well positioned to understand the issues faced by fiduciary structures as international law, regulation and client circumstances evolve. He is well equipped to work alongside his clients and their advisers to ensure that, as situations change, the structures continue to remain fit for the purposes for which they were established.

Paul has specialist knowledge of real estate holding structures and the sports and entertainment industries among other areas.

Jacob Cockcroft

Chief Commercial Officer Butterfield Bank

Jacob is the Chief Commercial Officer for Butterfield in the Channel Islands. Jacob initially joined the Butterfield Group in 2019, looking at client focused processes on a global basis. Prior to joining Butterfield, Jacob was a Partner at Campion Willcocks Compliance, a risk & compliance consultancy. He has also worked for KPMG in the UK, holding several roles including leading their Anti-Bribery and Corruption service for Banks. He started his career in corporate intelligence, advising companies operating in emerging markets. Jacob holds a MA in Modern History from University of Oxford and a MSc in History of International Relations from London School of Economics.

Daniel Fletcher

Associate Director Summit Group

Daniel started his career in 2008 with a bank owned trust company before joining the Summit Group in February 2017, where he is an Associate Director providing a full spectrum of services to high and ultra-high net worth clients across their trusts, companies and other structures.

Daniel has oversight of multiple family trusts and structures for ultra-high net worth Asian families, travelling to the region annually to meet with them and their advisors. He is a full STEP member and qualified Chartered Governance Professional.

Rupert Morris

Partner Walkers

Rupert heads Walkers' Private Capital & Trusts practice group and has over 15 years’ experience as a private wealth specialist focusing on private client advisory and structuring work.
Since qualifying as a Guernsey Advocate, Rupert also has experience as a contentious practitioner, appearing before the Guernsey courts at all levels. He is recognised as one of the leading lawyers in his field in Guernsey, and sits on the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP) worldwide council and is a former Chair of their Guernsey branch.

Rupert’s clients include leading trust companies, financial institutions, government departments and ultra-high net worth individuals. He helps them with all aspects of local and cross-border advisory and structuring work, impact investment, charitable structures, and regulatory matters.

Aaron Russell-Davison

Middle East Representative Guernsey Finance
Aaron has a wealth of industry expertise through a 30-year career in finance and banking. He has previously held the role of Standard Chartered Bank’s Global Head of Debt Capital Markets and, since retiring from this position in 2015, has worked extensively as a Non-Executive Director (NED). Notably he was an NED at Amana Bank PLC – a leading Islamic Bank – where he also chaired the Board Integrated Risk Committee.

Jo Stoddart

Director Locate Guernsey

As Director of Locate Guernsey, Jo provides guidance and help to individuals and businesses considering relocation to the island.  She has extensive personal and professional experience of international relocation and has worked for many years alongside HNWIs, businesses and their staff wishing to establish themselves on the island.  She is a passionate ambassador for Guernsey and enjoys helping potential new residents to discover how living and working here can benefit them, their families and their business interests.

Jenny Veillard

Manager Summit Group

Jenny joined Summit Trust Guernsey in July 2018 with over twenty years’ experience in Guernsey offshore financial services industry. Previous experience includes client executive officer for an offshore private bank and extensive experience as a manager in fund administration businesses, with qualifications in this field.  Jenny enjoys the diversity of being a manager of a private family office which covers all aspects of offshore finance.
