Guernsey Finance International Business Development Director James Crawford and South Africa Representative Grant McLeod will host an annual South Africa and Guernsey Private Wealth Thought Leadership Workshop in Guernsey with guests from South Africa both physically present and virtually across the private wealth sector.   

The guests will be on hand to discuss South Africa market trends and recent developments, considerations regarding distributions to South African beneficiaries, navigating hedge fund selection and the role of platforms in helping integrate trust and company structures.

Bradley Anthony

Managing Director Fairtree

Bradley joined Fairtree in 2011 and is currently the managing director, responsible for managing and directing all business operations and ensuring the integrity of investment processes. Bradley has extensive financial markets experience, having started his career in banking in 1993 at Nedcor. His banking roles extended from fixed income trading and structuring to head of domestic treasury at Cape of Good Hope Bank. Bradley pivoted from banking to asset management and has held several senior positions, including head of fixed income at BOE Asset Management in 2002 and chief investment officer of Momentum Alternative Investments in 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economic History and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Albert Coetzee

External Consultant Ninety One

Albert consults to Ninety One, bringing his expertise to engagements with advisors and their end clients.  He spent most of his career (24 years) at the firm, most recently as the Head of the Global Investment Platform. Previously, he worked as a product and fund specialist, regional head for various regions, and acted as Co-Head of Sales.

He is one of the pioneering members of the highly successful and popular Ninety One Masterclass series, which set the bar as the go-to platform for advisors seeking solutions to complex financial-planning problems.
Albert is a qualified lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Legislative Law degree. He is a Certified Financial Planner.

James is responsible for implementing Guernsey Finance's business development strategy to promote the island as a global finance specialist and connect Guernsey’s industry in its chosen target markets.

He has more than 25 years' experience in the fiduciary sector, where he worked for international banks and independent trust companies based in the Channel Islands, Switzerland and the UAE.

Dale Irvine

Chairperson Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Cape Town

Dale Irvine is the Chairperson of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Cape Town branch and the founder of Bedrock Multi Family Office (est 2024). Prior to establishing his own company,  Dale spent 25 years as a Director at Sentinel International Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he holds an Honours Degree in Tax and has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry.

Dale has extensive expertise in the management and administration of over 200 trusts and 100 companies, with a focus on estate planning, corporate structuring, tax administration, and offshore investments. He is highly regarded as a speaker and moderator on fiduciary matters, particularly regarding tax and estate planning. At this event, Dale will moderate the panel discussion on the implications of the UK’s tax changes and non-dom regime.

Marc Lindley

Product Specialist Ninety One

Marc Lindley is a product specialist at Ninety One Investment Platform with responsibility for the Strategic Initiatives channel. Marc works closely with the product and sales teams and focuses on opportunities and challenges that present themselves as a result of regulatory change whilst also providing technical support to the sales teams on a national basis. He has extensive industry experience around half of which was spent in the UK, including sales and investment writing roles at Deutsche Asset Management and Fidelity Worldwide Investment.

Marc joined Ninety One Investment Platform in 2009 from HSBC Global Asset Management where he was Associate Director responsible for distribution in the Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland region.

Grant McLeod

South Africa Business Development Representative Guernsey Finance
Grant was appointed as South African Representative for Guernsey Finance in March 2021. He has more than two decades of financial services experience in senior business development roles in South Africa, UK and the Cayman Islands. He was educated in the UK and South Africa. He has worked in private banking, wealth management and fiduciary services in South Africa in a number of senior roles representing global companies. As well as a BCom from the University of Witwatersrand, Grant holds a UK accounting and South African CFP qualification, and is a member of CII and CISI in the UK.

Andrew Wellstead

Partner OWP

Andrew is a highly regarded South African tax practitioner. He has significant tax experience in a number of fields including finance transactions, corporate transactions and/or restructures, international tax and tax compliance work, including voluntary disclosure and disputes.  He also has significant experience from an exchange control perspective in relation to cross border transactions and ownership of crypto assets.

Andrew is widely recognised as being commercial and innovative when attempting to solve client problems. He also has good relationships with various regulators where interactions are necessary noting that he has over 15 years’ experience in providing complex employees’ tax advisory services to large and complex South African companies.

He was ranked by Chambers and Partners in South Africa for Tax, 2018-2022.
