Save the date for ‘Sustainable Finance in Action: Insurance’.

This year marks a variation in the well-established Guernsey Finance event, with this insurance-focused edition serving as the first of two Sustainable Finance Seminars in 2026.

Titled "Risk to resilience: the role of insurance in sustainable finance", the seminar will explore how insurance is evolving beyond traditional risk transfer to help manage growing climate, economic and societal risks, build resilience and support long-term stability.

We are pleased to welcome Gus Majed, CEO and Founder of Paratus, as the keynote speaker for this event. Based in Guernsey, Paratus is the world’s first reinsurer underwriting energy price risk to support the transition to net zero. It continues to facilitate a growing range of climate and disaster risk structures from anticipatory humanitarian funding to private catastrophe bonds and ESG-aligned captives.

Bringing together industry, investors and stakeholders from Guernsey, the UK and internationally, the seminar presents an opportunity to share practical perspectives and solutions, supported by Guernsey’s specialist insurance expertise.

The event will highlight Guernsey’s commitment to sustainable finance through its innovative alternative risk solutions. Guernsey is a world leader in sustainable finance, having hosted the world’s first humanitarian catastrophe bond for the Danish Red Cross.
